Possible Fall Prevention Activities for Community Coalitions and Other Stakeholders

• Organize Community Walkability Audits (See “Walkability Resources”)


• Make Presentation to Policy Leaders using Fall Prevention Advocacy Toolkit


• Encourage County Boards Of Supervisors to issue Fall Prevention Week Proclamations


• Prepare Press Releases and disseminate to local media outlets


• Develop Media (Radio, etc.) spots


• Distribute Flyers With Information on Fall Prevention and Safety Around Pets


• Distribute Flyers through Meal on Wheels (See “Fact Sheets”)

• Encourage Activities at Senior Center / Congregant Meal Sites


• Organize Medication Brown Bags with Pharmacist Support


• Provide trainings for Area Agency on Aging Service Providers


• Consider Partnering with Hardware Stores on events, distribution of Fall Prevention literature in publications


• Organize Fall Fairs


• Provide Community Fall Risk Screening


• Contact Library system to display fall prevention information
