Barb Alberson, M.P.H.

Barb Alberson is a public health educator with more than 30 years of experience in the government sector. For the last 14 years, she has served as the Chief of the State and Local Injury Control Section in the California Department of Public Health. In this role, Ms. Alberson provides direction and support to a multidisciplinary professional staff in designing and implementing policies, projects, and standards for all elements of a comprehensive statewide injury prevention program. On the national level, Barb has served as a consultant for many federal agencies and national associations, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Program for Playground Safety; The National Resource Center on Aging and Injury; the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration; the Association of State Highway Transportation Officers, and the National Safe Kids Campaign. She also serves as faculty for numerous regional, state and national conferences each year. Barb earned her BA from University of California at Los Angeles, and her MPH from California State University at Northridge.
