Christy M. Nishita, Ph.D.

Christy M. Nishita, Ph.D. is a postdoctoral research associate at the California Fall Prevention Center of Excellence. Her area of expertise is on the impact of home and community environments on the health and functioning of frail older adults. At the Falls Center, her interest is in employing home modifications as part of a multifactorial fall intervention. Her current projects involve using California hospital discharge data to examine trends in fall rates, re-hospitalizations after a fall injury, and co-morbidities with fall injuries to better target future intervention efforts. Nishita received her Ph.D. in Gerontology from the University of Southern California.
